Mol History

Mol Belting Systems’ founder, Ed Mol Sr., launched Mol Belting in 1986 with an unmatched passion for meeting the needs of the food industry, and treadmill and checkstand manufacturers manufacturers. During that time, we made more than 1.2 million treadmill belts per year. More than 30 years later, our business has expanded to include conveyor belting, motorized pulleys and accessories for nearly any industry that moves people or product.

Mol Belting Systems impacts the conveyor industry with consistent innovation. Our patented ThermoDrive® hygienic belting system and ThermoGienic cleats addressed the need to meet sanitary guidelines and, in turn, changed the face of the meat, poultry, and seafood industries.

Have you ever wanted to know why most of the food-grade belting in the United States and Europe is blue? Mol Belting wanted a higher sanitary design than the standard white belt.

In 1991 we moved into our current location at 2532 Waldorf Court NW, Grand Rapids, MI. with 65,000 square feet of fabrication and inventory space.

We expanded our global reach with the investment in Mol Belting Systems Changshu China, a Wholly-Owned Foreign Enterprise (WOFE) in 2008. Mol Belting Changshu was set up to be Mol Belting’s power transmission division. Currently Mol Belting Changshu is operating in a 80,000 square foot building.

Ed Mol Jr., the current owner and President, is driven towards creating innovative products that continue to provide engineered solutions to conveying systems that continue to change and become more complex.
